The secret place where the rare books are kept or maybe its where a super spy keeps his weapons and identities along with a few million dollars in foreign currency should the need arise.
Hidden rooms are not to be confused with panic rooms, although panic rooms are indeed hidden. A hidden room can contain your valuable collection of stamps where you can feel they are safe from others but yet easily accessible to you should you want to work with your collection.

Reasons for hidden rooms

Children often have little secret places for what they consider important, as a child you may have liked to play in the closet below the stairway, maybe you kept your favorite toys in there and you never shared this place with anyone, that was your secret room. Now as an adult some of your needs have changed and you would like a place that is private, a place you have control over, a secret room. Your wine collection, artwork, weapons, maybe just a place that’s only yours, all these are reasons for a hidden room.

All rooms need an entrance and the key to a good hidden room is an entrance that isn’t obvious even to someone looking for this room. There are ways to accomplish this.
A bookcase that rolls aside to reveal the entrance, a stairway that lifts up to allow entry or a wine rack that you pull out to allow entry, there are many different ways to disguise a hidden room.

What to hide

Anything your heart desires, your hidden room can be shielded to safely contain your computer equipment so that you have an entirely secure place to store data, or perhaps you want a recording studio that is off limits to anyone but you.
